WHO AM I?
Hi, I'm Erin- (the one on the left ) I'm a Kalamazoo native and have been fortunate enough to live all over the US and travel the world. I received my yoga teaching certification in 2017 and decided move back to Michigan that same year.
Since I've been home I've been completing my degree as a Naturopathic Doctor. Through the study of holistic medicine I have recognized the absolute importance of starting life from a healthy, secure, nourished place. This is a place we can only give our child if we, ourselves are feeling healthy, secure, and nourished. That's why it is my job as your postpartum doula to offer this space to you.
I am honored to walk with you on this journey, a period of time that is so important that it has been given a name in many cultures - 'The Golden Month', 'The Fourth Trimester', 'La Dieta', 'The Sacred Window'. A time that is meant to be celebrated and shared.
WHAT IS A DOULA?
Like travel guides in a foreign country, postpartum doulas help support new families through the life changing experience of having a baby!
Whether it’s a family’s first baby or their tenth, a doula can help make the postpartum experience better. Today, a doula is defined as follows:
Doula: a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
My role is in nurturing your new family and holding space for your experience by stepping into your home during the fourth trimester with an open heart and attentive listening skills. Without judgment, I am there to assess and meet the needs of your family and your journey. As your postpartum doula, I want you to feel empowered; to know that you have what you need to thrive. Through our work, I aim to promote a positive experience of transition into life with your new baby.
